The cover is your magazine’s beacon on the crowded newsstand, and it only has a few seconds to evoke a visceral response that will compel a reader to pick it up. Using illustrative examples, industry consultant D.B. Scott (keynote presenter) will talk about the important elements of covers—architecture, visual and content—from a publishing perspective, helping you to refine your signature style.
***Magazines registered early for the session are invited to submit one cover for critique. Email image (300 DPI, approx. 8.5” x 11”) to projects@bcamp.bc.ca by January 15, 2010. Five covers will be selected and given to D.B. Scott for constructive commentary during the session.
