BCAMP letter re: BC Arts Funding Cuts
As you may be aware, the BC Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts has proposed cuts to arts and culture in the Ministry's 2009 service plan that would result in a 40 to 50 percent reduction in funding levels, which would have dire consequences for literary, arts, and cultural magazines in our province. BCAMP is sending the attached letter to Minister Bill Bennett to let him know how these proposed cuts will affect our members. You are encouraged to adapt it for your own publication and send it to Minister Bennett and your local MLA. Please copy BCAMP on any correspondence. The Alliance for Arts and Culture website also has tips for letter writing, and facts and figures you may wish to use to bolster your argument.
