Members nominated for WMAs!

The 30th Annual Western Magazine Award (WMA) Reception and Awards Gala will be held on June 15th and our members are finalists in almost every category!
Western Living Magazine is up for several Written and Visual Awards, including Best Art Direction in an article (Randall Watson,) Best Travel and Leisure Writing (Masa Takei and Tyee Bridge) and Best Photograph – Architectural, Landscape or Still Life (Eydis Einarsdottir and Clinton Hussey.)
Also a finalist several times over is BCBusiness Magazine. Categories include: Best Online Magazine; Best Art Direction for a cover (Catherine Mullaly;) Best Regular Column or Department; and Best Business Magazine.
CGA Magazine is up for Trade Magazine of the Year, Event has two entries as finalists for Best Fiction and Vancouver Magazine has the strongest presence on the list, up for nearly 30 awards in 14 categories.

The finalists for Magazine of the Year in the BC/Yukon region are BCBusiness, Malahat Review, Vancouver Magazine and Western Living. The winning magazine will become a finalist for Western Canada’s Magazine of the Year.

Stacey Hooper from Pacific Rim Magazine was the only finalist in the Student Writing category. Congratulations to Stacey on her win!
