These Rules govern BCAMP's Explore More Contest. They exempt BCAMP and other persons from liability and contain other important provisions. By submitting a Contest entry, you acknowledge and signify that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Rules. If you do not agree with each provision of these Rules, you may not participate in the Explore More contest.

The Contest

BCAMP's Explore More Contest (the "Contest") is offered by BC Association of Magazine Publishers ("BCAMP"), 201 318 Homer Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V6B 2Z2.

How To Enter

No purchase or payment is necessary in order to participate in the Contest.

To enter the Contest online, complete and submit the short online contest entry.

A Contest entry may also be made by printing your full legal name, address, telephone number, and email address on a 3" x 5" piece of paper, and mailing it to Explore More Contest, BCAMP, 201 318 Homer Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V6B 2Z2. Only one entry form may be included in each envelope bearing sufficient postage.

Only one entry per person is permitted. Persons making multiple entries may be disqualified. Entries that are fraudulent are not permitted, and will be declared invalid. Paper entries that are mechanically reproduced, illegible, altered, mutilated, or tampered with are not permitted, and will be declared invalid.

To be eligible, entries must be received by BCAMP by no later than 11:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) on the last day of each month from May 2009 to April 2010 (the "Contest Closing Date").

All entries become the property of BCAMP and will not be acknowledged or returned. BCAMP will not engage in correspondence regarding the Contest with any person other than selected entrants.

Who Can Enter

The Contest is only open to individuals who are residents of Canada (other than Quebec) and are at least 19 years of age as of 1 May 2009.

The Contest is not open to directors, officers, employees, or members of BCAMP or its affiliates, advertising or promotion agencies, or other representatives or agents, members of those individual's respective immediate families, or anyone with whom any of those individuals are domiciled.

The Prizes

There is one prize each month available to be won, a magazine subscription of the winner’s choice. Prizes are subject to all standard conditions, restrictions, requirements, and regulations of the prize supplier applicable at the time of delivery and use.

The approximate retail value of each prize is variable. Prizes are not transferable, are not convertible to cash, may not be exchanged for other merchandise, and must be accepted as awarded.

The Contest Draw

The Contest will run from 1 May 2009 to 30 April 2010.

A random draw will be made in Vancouver, British Columbia on or about the first of each month from June until May 2010 from all eligible entries received by or before 11:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) on the monthly Contest Closing Date.

Following the draw, BCAMP will attempt to contact the selected entrant by email at the email address provided in their entry form. Return of any prize notification email as undeliverable may result in disqualification, and an alternate entrant may be selected.

The chances of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received. There is no maximum number of entries.

How To Win

The prize winners will be the first entrant whose name is selected at random from eligible entries and who within five (5) business days after the draw: (a) submit valid proof of identity, age and residence; (b) correctly answer, unaided by any other person, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question administered by BCAMP during a pre-arranged, mutually convenient telephone call; and (c) otherwise comply with these Rules.
To qualify as a prize winner, a selected entrant must comply with the requirements of this Agreement and must promptly sign: (a) a declaration of compliance with these Rules in a form prescribed by BCAMP; (b) a certificate accepting the prize as awarded; (c) a release of BCAMP from any and all liability in connection with the Contest and the prize; and (d) a consent to the announcement of their name and the use of the their name, address (city only).

If a selected entrant does not respond to the prize notification email within seven (7) calendar days; or a selected entrant does not timely comply with the requirements of these Rules, then in BCAMP's discretion the prize may be forfeited without any liability to the selected entrant and another entrant may be selected by random draw in accordance with these Rules.

Consent to Personal Information Use and Disclosure

By entering the Contest, entrants consent to BCAMP's collection, use and disclosure of the personal information provided in contest entries for the administration of the Contest and in aggregated form in order to create reports regarding Contest entrant demographics. The personal information collected as part of the contest will not be disclosed to other parties.

Entrants that indicate on their entry form that they wish to receive information on new services from BCAMP consent to BCAMP's use of their personal information (including their email address) for that purpose.

Other Rules

BCAMP is not responsible or liable, jointly or severally, for any of the following:

• erroneous, damaged, destroyed, lost, late, incomplete, illegible, incorrectly addressed or misdirected entries, regardless of the cause;
• failure for any reason whatsoever of selected entrants to receive a prize notification telephone call or email;
• changes in entrants' telephone numbers or email addresses after entry forms are submitted;
• computer, online, telephone, communication, or technical malfunctions or errors that may occur, regardless of the cause; or
• damage or loss, including any loss of use, loss of production, loss of profits (anticipated or otherwise), loss of markets, economic loss, special, indirect or consequential loss or damage or punitive damages, whether in contract, tort or under any other theory of law or equity, arising from, connected with, or relating to the Contest, or the submission of entries to the Contest, or participation in the Contest, or the Contest prize, or the use of BCAMP's website (including the submission of entries), or the use or misuse of their personal information, and regardless of the cause (including gross negligence by BCAMP or any person for whom BCAMP is responsible), and notwithstanding that they may have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage being incurred.
• If for any reason BCAMP determines, in its discretion, that the Contest is not capable of being conducted as intended by BCAMP, including due to computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause that corrupts or interferes with the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, BCAMP may in its discretion disqualify any entrant responsible for such misconduct and withdraw, cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend all or any part of the Contest (including selecting winners from eligible entries received at that time) by publishing a notice on the BCAMP website at www.bcamp.bc.ca/explore or in the legal notices section of the Vancouver Province or Vancouver Sun newspapers.

WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR INTERFERE WITH THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND BCAMP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER RELIEF FROM ALL RESPONSIBLE PERSONS TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

BCAMP reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.

Decisions of the contest judge appointed by BCAMP regarding any and all aspects of the Contest are final and binding on all entrants.

The name of the Contest winners may be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped, No. 10 size envelope to Explore More Contest, BCAMP, 201 318 Homer Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V6B 2Z2.within 30 days after the Closing Date.

The Contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations, and is void where prohibited by law. If any provision of these Rules is found by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, all other provisions will remain in full force and effect.

The Contest is controlled by BCAMP from Vancouver, British Columbia. The Contest Rules are governed solely by the laws of British Columbia, Canada and applicable federal laws of Canada, excluding any rules of private international law or the conflict of laws that would lead to the application of any other laws. Any dispute between BCAMP and you or any other person arising from, connected with or relating to the Contest, the submission of entries to the Contest, participation in the Contest, the Contest prizes, the use of BCAMP's website (including the submission of entries), the use or misuse of personal information provided in connection with the Contest, or any related matters ("Disputes") must be resolved before the Courts of British Columbia sitting in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and you hereby irrevocably submit and attorn to the original and exclusive jurisdiction of those courts in respect of all Disputes.
